Whether you’re 8 or 58, this tutorial for my Easy DIY Ghost craft for Halloween is SURE to knock your socks off!!

Don’t worry- they’re CUTE ghosts… not SPOOKY ghosts! If you decorate for Halloween, then you better give this project a try!

three wooden spoons were used for this project

Supplies needed for this project…

  • Three wooden spoons (I used some super old ones I had at the bottom of my drawer… but you can buy them for SUPER cheap at any Dollar store!)
  • White Felt from Dollar Tree
  • Googly-eyes
  • Scissors
  • Hot Glue Gun
  • Ribbon of your choice
cut strips of white felt from dollar tree to fit each spoon

Step 1: Cut your felt in strips to fit each spoon. I made sure to leave about 1-2 inches on each side.

make sure the base of the spoon is at the very bottom of the felt

Step 2: Move your spoon down enough, to where the end of the actual spoon part is touching the end of the felt.

fold the felt over the top

Step 3: Fold the long end of felt over the top of the spoon.

take a thin piece of ribbon or raffia, and tie it very tightlty

Step 4: Take a thin piece of ribbon/raffia, and tie it super tightly around the ebase of the spoon.

hot glue the top of the felt back to make it more round

Step 5: Hot glue the ends of the fold to the back. This will help pin down the “pointy” part that the fold created, and creating a more “round” figure!

Step 6: Hot Glue your googly-eyes on! At this point, you could also add a mouth, or any other embellishments.

cut the bottom of the felt to mimic a ghostly figure

Step 7: Cut the bottom of the felt to mimic a “ghostly” look. I simply just cut waves into mine!

Make a re-fabbed bow, and hot glue them on to the necks of the ghosts

Step 8: Make your Re-Fabbed Bow! Once they’re all made, hot glue them onto the “neck” of each ghost.

display the ghosts in a vase and enjoy!

Now, decorate!!! The purpose of using wooden spoons, is to have the long base… so you can stick them in vases, in wreaths, or anywhere your heart desires!

I love using wooden spoons for crafts, just for this very purpose!
