Simple Fall Fireplace

As you know, I am not a “big time” fall decorator. I have a feeling that may change next year, as I plan to hit up the after season sales this year!! This was the first year that I even did the slightest decorating for this season, and I am in shock that I didn’t do it sooner!

I have always wanted a fireplace in my home. There is nothing I love more than a warm fire going in the winter. To me, it makes a house a HOME. It makes me feel so cozy and content, so I was very excited when we bought this house and it had one!  The problem is…above it is the only place to put the TV. There is literally no other option with the layout of the space, so it limits me on decorating it. I always had big plans of all the beautiful vignettes I could do, and all of the ways I could decorate for each holiday…but alas, I have a big, black flat screen right square in the center 🙂

I still get to decorate the best I can, and to be honest, I feel like it has come along quite nicely with the space I have had to work with.

There is still some updating that I would like to do to this fireplace {screen, bright gold…}, but for now…it looks 1000 times better than it did, and it is not a top priority. I am very content for now.

I love the addition of the old chair that I found at a local junk place recently. I really think it gives this space a little bit of an extra “fall” feel.

The chair in and of itself was pretty bland, and I didn’t have any of those adorable plaid blankets that everyone is raving about, so I just got creative and used one of my scarves! It did the trick, and it has gotten me thinking of where I could use scarves in more places around my home!

For the mantle, I honestly just used items that I already had around the house, with the exception of my 2 Dollar Tree pumpkins. They are small and have those pretty fall colors, so I thought they set the feel of the mantle quite nicely!

And seriously, how cute is this owl??

A simple grapevine wreath sets the background tone on this side, and I like how it gives it some height. {It is actually sitting on a candle so that it is taller- in fact, you can accidentally see it in the picture! Blooper! oops.}

So, all in all, it is just a very simple, fall, fireplace…but it is what I have always wanted, and I am happy to have it.

Next year, I have a feeling this space will look much different, but for now- with my limited fall decorating, I am pretty darn  pleased with my little set up! What do you think? What do you think about the scarf idea on the chair? Yay or nay?

    Love the idea of the scar, much cheaper than a plaid blanket! Your fireplace is beautiful!!!
