Re-Fabbing a Client’s Master Bedroom

In my line of work, my clients truly have to trust me when it comes to their homes. That is a big responsibility for me! One of my latest jobs was basically the entire main floor of a home {besides the kitchen}. It was a fun job, and they were great people to work with, so I thoroughly enjoyed it! My absolute favorite room turned out to be the Master Bedroom.

I wanted to show you all the before and after pictures so you can see what a little paint, rearranging, and accessories can do for a space!

This is their room before. There is nothing wrong with it, but they were ready for a change. They wanted it to feel more homey and to be more decorated…and they, like many people- were just kind of stuck. We have all been there! Can I get an amen?!

This is the opposite side of the room. This is a really long and somewhat narrow room, so it is a bit of a challenge.

I gave recommendations for the paint color {it was actually a color that they had used in another room in their home}, recommendations for certain furniture pieces to be moved, and a few other ideas…and I headed out to do my shopping! I LOVE that part. I never dreamed I would actually get to “work” while shopping for home decor one day. It is like a dream come true. I do love clothes, but if I had $100, $90 would go towards home decor and $10 towards clothes. THAT is my passion! So anyway, I went shopping…and a couple of weeks later, I came and set their room up!

They had the walls painted and took the TV down because they didn’t use it. I had told them that their white bedding would be perfect, so we left that as well! This room would then come together so nicely!

I loved how the pillows provided a good “pop” of color against the the white bedding.

Do you love this artwork as much as I do? I seriously wanted to keep it for myself, but I knew it would look awesome in here. I think I was right! It pulls the whole look together…and the dark framing goes so good with their dark furniture.

When I work on a home, I use as much of the client’s own decor and furniture as possible, so several of these items were their own. Many of them were in totally different places throughout their room, or even their home, in general. It is amazing how you can just change things up, and they look so different.

On the other side of the room, I gave them a sitting area. That is something I thought would look great as well as be functional, and it was something they really wanted as well. I love these banana leaf chairs from Kirkland’s! I also love the aqua curtains. They give the perfect amount of color against the gray walls.

Isn’t it amazing what just a few changes can do for a space? I hope they love their space as much as I do! I could totally see myself relaxing and taking it easy in there 🙂

Wow such a narrow space for sure! I love that you enjoy doing this type of work. I am going to make a constructive comment. I would like to see more fabric to the drapes to add length so that they touch the floor. You could do this by sewing on more fabric or use the no sew method. Just adds a little more finished detail to ready made panels. The change of wall color is beautiful!
