how to make a pumpkin from a candle lid

When August comes around, my mind takes a little switch-a-roo and everything I see becomes…A PUMPKIN.

That is what happened when I bought my most recent candle from Walmart the other day (which by the way smells DIVINE).

I took the top off to light it up, and I immediately thought to myself, “I am totally using that top to make a pumpkin sign!” It was just a GOOD TOP lol

So anyway, today was the day that I made that sign a reality!

I took my $3.00 little wooden sign from Dollar Tree plus, and got to work.

First, I took some burnt umber paint from Walmart and watered it down on a paper plate and simply brushed it onto my wood. I wanted to give it a kind of rustic vibe.

Then, I took a piece of hymnal paper and mod podged it onto the wood! I thought this would just give a little extra design to it and break up the wood on wood.

I hot glued my candle lid as my “pumpkin”, adhered the sticks from my yard for the stem and then created a little “bow”- which is serving as my leaves (but mostly just because it is cute, and that wins out over realistic LOL)

This little pumpkin sign turned out so adorable! WIN WINn’t be happier with it. Not only do I have a good smelling candle filling up my home, but I also have an easy 10 minute fall sign to decorate with! WIN WIN in my book!

Be sure to PIN for later!
