Before diving into this post, I want to make one thing clear—I am NOT A FOOD BLOGGER, not even close! I simply enjoy making festive desserts, like this one!!
This dessert is easy as can be, and SURE to be a hit at Memorial Day or Fourth of July gatherings!
recipe ingredients
- 9×13 pan
- Parchment paper
- Ice cream sandwiches (24 total)
- Cool Whip (large tub)
- Raspberries
- Blueberries
- Hersheys Syrup
- Festive sprinkles (optional)
First, line your 9×13 pan with the parchment paper, and place 12 unwrapped ice cream sandwiches on the bottom layer of the pan.
Next, put a layer of thawed cool whip!
Of course I drizzled Hershey’s Syrup and festive sprinkles on top, because I’m “extra” LOL
Stick in the freezer for at least 30 minutes to let the first layer get nice and chilled again! Next, layer your next 12 sandwiches on top of the cool whip.
Add another layer of cool whip on top of the sandwiches. Your pan should look almost full after this step!
Now it’s time for the fun… adding the fruit to make a flag! DISCLAIMER: this dessert will not have exactly 13 stripes and 50 stars to replicate the American Flag.
I used 36 blueberries total to look like stars.
I used approximately 70 raspberries to make the stripes. I bought two containers of raspberries just in case, and I did pull out a few “pretty” raspberries out of the second container! Place the pan in the freezer for 2 hours, or until time to serve.
Here you have it, folks! It’s THAT easy!! And delicious, of course!
Ice cream AND fruit on a hot day… YES please!!!!
It truly is as yummy as it looks, y’all! Are you saving this American Flag cake for your next Memorial Day or Fourth of July party?!? I’d love to know!
Be sure to PIN this for later!
