Do you ever make a decision, knowing it isn’t the one you REALLY wanted to make…but you just settle?

Well, I did that. When we built our house and picked our front door, I KNEW I wanted it to be a beautiful aqua, but I went with black instead. The black was beautiful…but I could NEVER shake that feeling of wanting that pop of color, and I finally gave in and WENT WITH IT!

While we were on vacation, I had someone paint my front doors the most beautiful color EVER…and I can’t wait to show you. It totally screams BROOKE, and yes- Brandon is very happy with it too! Win Win!

The color is Sherwin Williams Tidewater, and we got it from the Sherwin Williams store. There is a difference in the quality from the actual Sherwin Williams store and the line of paint at Lowes, just FYI. I have learned that through professional painters through the years!

This is the exact can of paint.

It took her 2 full coats to cover the black, which was not as bad as I thought it may be…and it looks AMAZING!!!

The black hardware on the door shows up sooooo much better now against the Tidewater! You could barely even see the details on the black, but believe it or not- they were there all along!!!

I am absolutely in love with this makeover, and it is just another example of going with your first instinct. It is usually the right one!

I absolutely love these doors this color! It looks amazing! I recently painted my door black but it’s not a fancy one like you have. I still love it though, doesn’t show dirt nearly as bad either! Lol! You have a beautiful home!

I really love your Tidewater color on your front doors. It’s beautiful and makes your doors stand out more. I like the black decorations on your doors and could see them on the black doors when I went back and looked at them closely. They do stand out beautifully on the Tidewater color. This is in the family of my favorite colors and I am so happy that you had the courage to go ahead and have the doors painted!

This is too funny. I just bought my house a year ago and the front door was the same color you just painted and I repainted it gray, but a lighter gray than your was.
    Love it!!!!

Your doors look amazing! I say follow your inclination. You knew what would look best from the start. The wonderful thing about paint is that it is easy to paint over a color you no longer care for!

Inside of the door looks great. Love the color. Outside drives me crazy. All that black needs to go. Paint the black the same as the door or a shade or 2 darker than the door color. The black just ruined it to me. I would not want to look at this every time I was on the porch. Maybe leave the black on the door knobs like the inside. You have such a beautiful color to be ruined by all that black. Just my opinion, you have to live with it. Have a blessed day.

I just painted my living room tidewater. Love it and the different ways the color changes depending on the light. Currently outside of front door is black but I’m thinking of changing it to something like tidewater.
