This DIY Dollar Tree picture frame is PERFECT for your Halloween decorating! Now, stay with me here… because I’m not using the frame how you may think I will!

Supplies that you’ll need:

  • Picture Frame from Dollar Tree
  • Embellishments from Dollar Tree (I used bats and bones!)
  • Scrapbook paper from Hobby Lobby
  • Hot Glue Gun
  • Mod Podge
  • Printed picture

Instructions:

black and white stripe scrapbook paper from hobby lobby

I’m not your typical decorator for Halloween… you won’t see me using many purples or oranges- but I always use black and white!

Your first step will be to cover the frame COMPLETELY with the scrapbook paper. Let me show you!

Trace out the shape of your frame onto the back of your desired scrapbook paper. Then, cut it out and mod podge to the front of the frame!

DO NOT worry about the middle piece of the frame… we actually aren’t even using it!

Cover the picture frame completely with a piece of scrapbook paper

Here’s what it should look like so far! As you can see, we covered the front of the frame completely… which is what we want to do! Honestly, we only needed this frame for the shape!

add more scrapbook paper to the top

After sanding the edges of my frame, I mod podged on MORE scrapbook paper!

  • embellish your picture frame with bats from the dollar tree
  • add dollar tree bones to the corner of the photo

Now, it’s time to embellish! I found some glittery bats and bones from Dollar Tree to help jazz it up a bit.

This is what makes the frame feel more like Halloween! But, you could always leave off the spooky embellishments, and make this a frame to use for any time of year!

I printed out a picture using my normal ink-jet printer, and BOOM!!! How adorable did this turn out?!

Make this as a gift, or keep it for yourself… either way, it’s a BOO-tiful project!!! (sorry. I had to.)

I love the dollar tree picture frame with the embellishments. I got to go to the General Dollar Tree and and Dollar Tree to see what I can find. I haven’t been to Burke’s in awhile either. Lots of really cute things to help me decorate. Love love your taste and decor.
