As I am moving everything back into our home…(you can read all about that RIGHT HERE), I am putting things back together in new ways. Some of it is still pretty much the same, but I have also shifted a bit on my style. While I love mixing old and new and would definitely say I have a very eclectic style, I tend to gravitate away from the overall farmhousey style. You will even see a little bit of what you may would call “abstract”…although not TOO far in that direction.
But…nevertheless, this little upcycle today is in the realm of the abstract!
I loved this canvas with white on white that I found at Hobby Lobby (it doesn’t really look like something they would have does it?!), but I felt like it needed a little something.
I felt like it needed RED LIPS!
That would surely be a simple, yet dramatic pop to this piece…don’t you agree?
I grabbed my cardinal crimson acrylic paint and got to work!
Talk about a 5 minute project, y’all! It was EASY PEASY!
I simply took my red paint and a very thin paint brush and brushed right along the lip outline…and BAM! What a fun difference!
This may not be your cup of tea, but I have to say….I am LOVING IT. It did exactly what I wanted it to do. It gave a sense of glamour and fun and color…all in one.
Never be afraid to step outside of the box a little bit and play around. It is super fun and you never know what you may come up with!
Be sure to PIN FOR LATER!

I had 5 years of Home Economics, 8th thru 12th. Somewhere in that time I learned that you were to have at least a tiny bit of red in every room. You probably do and don’t realize it, if not get a touch of red in there. It could be a print with a tiny flower, a streak of red, etc.
