The Naked House

Well, Christmas is over and most of us have taken our Christmas decorations down. I know there are still those few that are hanging on for dear life, but I would say most of us was ready to move on! I LOVE Christmas and the coziness that all of my decorations bring to my home, and I have to admit, once I take them down- my home feels completely NAKED.

Naked House-2

Naked House

This year, as I looked at my bare home, I felt an urge to just revamp. It is a new year, and I am in a new stage of my life. I became a stay-at-home mom (today is actually my first day…and Yes, I survived!), and I kind of wanted my home to have a “new” feel too. Grant it, I didn’t have much (if any, really) money to go buying a bunch of new things, but that has never stopped me from changing things around. In fact, it is the most fun when you have to be creative!

I decided to take a look at all of my existing decor as I was pulling it out of storage and see what I truly wanted to keep and what I could part with. I sold LOTS of items on Facebook, which gave me a little extra money to purchase a few items…and it also helped me de-clutter. Win win! I also started “shopping” from other rooms in my home and moving things around from room to room. This is my favorite thing to do because it can completely change the look of a space, yet you spend zero money. I will be showing these changes very soon to see what you think!

I am just really excited to show you lots of changes in the new year! Tonight my husband and I have been re-arranging my living room, my daughter’s room is finally getting finished, and the master bedroom is inching closer and closer to completion {update: It IS complete!}. We have a play area that is in need of a “plan”, LOTS of furniture in need of makeovers, projects to be done, and the list could go on and on! With my being home more, I am really hoping to be more active on the blog and have lots of fun things to show in the weeks to come. I can’t wait to see what 2016 has in store!

Yeah, the naked house was always startling after the Christmas holiday, but I never thought to change things around – you are so creative and I’m looking forward to seeing what you do!!! Enjoy being a stay at home mom, it’s the best “job” in the world!!!
