painting my built ins retreat by sherwin williams

A couple months ago, I decided I wanted to change up some things in my house. I always like adding more character and adding extra character in new ways. I just THRIVE on change in my home!

Well, I told y’all on THIS POST of some things I wanted to change, and I got a lot of mixed reviews about how you felt about me painting my white built ins in a new color! But guess what?? I KNEW it was going to look fabulous, and I just went with my gut on this one!

So, I picked a color, which was the HARDEST part for me- but let me tell you…I WON the lottery with this pick!!! It is RETREAT by Sherwin Williams, and I am OBSESSED with it!!!

I am currently on vacation, and my painter was able to come while I am gone…so she sent me these after pictures and I could not wait any longer to share it with you! I CANNOT WAIT to get home and see them in person and style them!!! If you wanna see them again when I get them styled, just let me know in the comments!

I haven’t edited these pics or anything at all…this is exactly the way she sent it. The little white spot on the left is just a glare. Are you as in LOVE as I am???

I think this color is everything!! It has completely changed the entire look! I think it even made the wood portion in the middle pop even more.

I thought about painting the wood panels, and I may still do that…but I am not sure. I am gonna leave like this for at least a little while. Eventually, I may do them white or tile it back there…thoughts?!

Be sure to PIN this for later so you don’t forget the deets when YOU are ready to paint your next piece!

My thought is WOW!! I already loved it before, but I love it even more now!!! I have to say I think it’s a great idea to wait a bit before changing the wood panels, but if you do?? It’ll come out fantastic…you just have a way of making it happen! And no matter what any of us think, you just keep doing YOU. There’s really no other way that works!! ????❤️????

LOVE the green! I am a color person. I would do more green behind. I personally would not like black TV on white background and green on sides. But you have great taste and will love whatever you do. ( Or even wallpaper behind)

Totally agree that the new color (which I love) makes the wood stand out! I’ve learned over the years to always go with your gut!

They look good. It will be interesting to see how they look styled. I do think it makes the wood look warmer and balanced. I don’t think I would paint or tile it for a while until I see I it looks through the different seasons styled. Enjoy them

I was just debating what color to paint my closet built-ins. Sage green is my favorite, but I hate picking out colors so I thought I would go with white. I will be going to get Retreat at Sherwin Williams! Yours looks so pretty.
