how to spray paint a frame

It’s spray paint season, y’all! For me, spray paint is like MAGIC in a can- it’s the fastest AND easiest way to transform a piece. Today, I’m going to transform this frame with a fun color! Be sure to stick around to see if you prefer the BEFORE or the AFTER!

This is the BEFORE of the frame we are working with today! Not bad at all, but not exactly what I had in mind, nonetheless…

For this quick makeover, I used the following supplies:

  • Painted canvas from EZ Easel
  • Rust-Oleum Coastal Sage 2X Ultra Cover Ultra Matte Spray Paint *ref link
  • Protective gloves
  • Drop cloth

Like I mentioned above, I got this adorable painted canvas from EZ Easel! Isn’t it so ME?!

I wanted to have it framed, but without the price tag of a custom frame! I already had this frame on hand, so I removed the glass, and the painting fit perfectly!

Now for the fun part… PAINT!

I sprayed the frame in light, sweeping motions while making sure to thoroughly cover the inside of the frame as well. While spray painting, I always try to take my time and not rush over it to avoid paint drips!

Allow me to present to you… the AFTER!

That’s ALL folks! This was a super quick, easy and AFFORDABLE change, so I wanted to share in case this sparked some creativity for you!

How FABULOUS is this color combo?!?! I can’t wait to admire it on my wall every day!

Speaking of my wall… have you seen this NEW accent wall in my master bedroom?? Check out all of the details HERE!

What color would YOU have painted this frame? I’m curious!

Don’t forget to pin this for later!
