how to make an xoxo valentine sign

Sometimes your next piece of seasonal decor is already in your home…nestled in a closet somewhere waiting to be reborn. That is what happened with this XOXO Valentine sign!

A few years ago, a friend of mine was having a yard sale, and I grabbed this piece from her. It was a frame, and I used it as that for a long time…but I got bored with it after a while, and well…it sat…in my craft closet…until now!

I found these wooden letters at Dollar General, and I decided to make XOXO. I didn’t know what I was going to put them on, but I knew it wouldn’t be too hard to find something in my stash. When I got home to look for something, my good ole wooden frame called my name!

The thing about it was, it was so boring as is…so I painted some black and white striped on the middle piece of wood to give it a more whimsy/fun look! That was the background for my XOXO!

All I did was paint the letters white and sprinkle gold glitter on them while they were still wet.

Once they were dry, I hot glued them onto the black and white striped piece and VOILA! It was complete.

Y’all…remember this. DIY projects do not have to be complicated. Sometimes it is the easiest ones that pack the biggest punch!
