how to make a diy flower with wood pieces

Making diy flowers is one of my favorite things to do! There are literally a million ways you can make a flower with numerous supplies, but today I want to show you how I made the cutest one with WOOD! I took several scrap pieces of wood and compiled them into the cutest little wooden flower EVER!

You may remember seeing my LIVE VIDEO on FACEBOOK where I made a flower like this, but I decided to do another one and take it in a little more of a whimsical direction, and I am about to show you what I came up with! I LOVE IT!

Supplies I used for this:

Scrap wood block
ribbon of your choice
wood blocks from Dollar Tree generic jenga set
paint of your choice (I used white, black and golden sunset from Walmart)
Felt ball or pom pom
small little wood slice (mine is from a bag full at Hobby Lobby)
Hot glue gun (I use the Re-Fabbed HOT GLUE GUNNN!!!)

First, I painted my little wood block white!

After that, I added some chunky black stripes! Don’t worry about perfection. This is what makes them so much FUN!

I decided that this golden sunset would be the perfect compliment to this piece! Don’t you love black and white and mustard together?!?!

I must have not gotten a pic of the little wood slice that I used as the main part of my flower, but I simply painted the inside part of the wood slice yellow. While I had the yellow out, I went ahead and made some fun polka dots along the side!

I didn’t take the best process pictures, so I am sorry about that! Oops!

As you can see, I took my Dollar Tree generic jenga blocks and glued them onto my wood board as my leaves and took a stick from my yard to make my stem. From there, I glued my little small wood slice right above my stick. In the middle of my wood slice I glued a hot pink felt ball! I thought the pink and mustard were so cute together!

Didn’t this turn out adorable?! I absolutely LOVE it! I love the stripes and polka dots together…and the color combo!

It looks so cute on my coffee bar!!! Perfect for a tiered tray too!

I love it all perched up in my little vintage bowl in my tiered tray! SWOOOON!

If you enjoyed this project, would you mind showing me a little love over on Pinterest?! Or go FOLLOW ON FACEBOOK or INSTAGRAM!?
