how to make a Christmas tree from sea glass

I always have SOO many fun Christmas ideas flooding through my mind, and this time I decided to take a poll on my Facebook page, and this sea glass project was the clear winner!

I was thrilled, because I have been itching to do a craft with the sea glass we picked up while on the beach during our trip to Italy this summer!

To see the ENTIRE process, be sure to watch my LIVE VIDEO on FACEBOOK!

what you’ll need…

  • Scrap wood (I picked mine up at Anything Goes Trading Co.)
  • Sea glass (we found SO MUCH of it on the beach during our trip to Italy)
  • White Apple Barrel acrylic paint
  • Re-Fabbed Hot Glue Gun/Hot Glue
  • Re-Fabbed Paint Brushes

First, I decided to paint the front of my wood sign only (grab my FAVE paint brushes HERE) and left the sides of my scrap wood as is.

I carefully picked through the sea glass, leaning more towards the green shades of glass instead of the blues!

I glued the sea glass directly onto my scrap wood using my exclusive hot glue gun!

I started at the top of the tree, and worked my way down using different shades and sizes of the sea glass.

Here is an up-close and personal picture of how she’s coming along! Isn’t this so FUN?!?

I debated adding a unique trunk, but I ultimately decided that this crack in my scrap wood looked like one, so I left it as is. I hated to take away from this beautiful sea glass!

Can you say SWOON?! I love it sooo much!

Would you add a trunk, or leave as is??? Either way, I hope this gave you a little Christmas inspiration!
