how to easily decorate a mantel with real-touch greenery

You have probably noticed that “real-touch” greenery is SUPER popular this year! It has a heavier feel and truly looks more like fresh greenery than the traditional pine garland. One of our team members decided to give it a try this year on her mantel and we think the result is AMAZING!!! If you’re looking for mantle inspiration, be sure you also check out Brooke’s vintage mantel HERE!

She used this 12′ garland by ASPEN GREENERY, which she found at Marshalls!

She also chose to use the trendy bells in her mantle decor. She purchased these locally, but HERE are some similar ones from Amazon!

She first applied Command adhesive hooks on top of the mantle to secure the greenery.

She wanted it to have a really “full” look, so she used zip ties to secure two strands of the garland together and then attached it to the Command hook on top of the mantle.

You can see why it is called “real touch,” because it looks SO STINKIN’ REAL!!!!

The bells came with a burgundy ribbon, but she wanted to use the traditional red. She attached the ribbon at the top of the bells, leaving a long length of ribbon to be able to adjust the levels of the bells. She purchased her velvet ribbon from Amazon and you can get it HERE!

To make the bows, she simply created an equal number of long loops of the velvet ribbon for each side.

She then cut another length of the ribbon to tie around the loops to keep them together and form a bow.

She then attached the bows to bells and secured them to the greenery using more zip ties.

You can see that she adjusted the varying lengths of the ribbons which were tied onto the bells so that they would hang naturally on top of each other at different levels.

There is not a more classic look than a rich red with deep green!! Beautiful!!!

She paired the greenery and ribbon with a couple of red berry trees she found at Target, along with some gold accents!

She was undecided about adding lights to the greenery, since she wanted to keep a very simple, traditional look….

BUT then opted to add the lights and she is LOVING the result!!!

The lights definitely add to the ambiance and coordinate perfectly with her Christmas tree in the background! Let us know what you think about the new “real touch” greenery and if you used it this year in your decor!

Be sure to pin for later!!
