hope rises again

“He is not here; He has risen, just as He said.” — Matthew 28:6

Easter morning didn’t begin with celebration—it began with exhaustion, grief, and uncertainty. The women who approached the tomb carried spices in their hands and sorrow in their hearts. They weren’t expecting a miracle. They were simply trying to be faithful in the middle of heartbreak.

As women, that part of the story feels familiar.

You show up day after day—packing lunches, wiping tears, paying bills, juggling emotions—often carrying burdens no one else fully sees. Some seasons feel heavy. Maybe you’re walking through disappointment, loneliness, parenting struggles, or simply the weariness of always being needed. Like those women, you’re doing the next right thing, even when your heart is tired.

But Easter reminds us of this powerful truth: God is working even when we least expect it.

Early on Sunday morning, as the new day was dawning, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went out to visit the tomb.

Suddenly there was a great earthquake! For an angel of the Lord came down from heaven, rolled aside the stone, and sat on it. His face shone like lightning, and his clothing was as white as snow.  The guards shook with fear when they saw him, and they fell into a dead faint.

Then the angel spoke to the women. “Don’t be afraid!” he said. “I know you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He isn’t here! He is risen from the dead, just as he said would happen. Come, see where his body was lying.  Matthew 28:1-6

The stone wasn’t rolled away for Jesus to come out—it was rolled away so the women could see in. So they could witness that what looked like the end was actually the beginning. What felt like loss was actually victory.

The same is true for each of us.  God is not finished with the situation we think is final.  God can redeem the pain we are carrying.  God sees and meets us when the exhaustion is overwhelming.

Resurrection isn’t just a moment in history—it’s a promise for your everyday life.

It looks like strength when you thought you had none left.
It looks like peace in a situation that hasn’t changed yet.
It looks like your children seeing faith lived out, even when it’s hard.

And sometimes, resurrection is quiet. It’s found in small moments—a deep breath before responding with patience, a whispered prayer in the car, a choice to trust God one more time.

Easter tells us that death does not get the final word—God does.

So when you feel buried under the weight of motherhood or circumstances, remember: God specializes in bringing life out of what feels dead. He is still rolling stones away. He is still making a way where there seems to be none.

Today, you don’t have to have it all together. You don’t have to feel strong. You just have to come as you are—like those women did—and trust that God will meet you there.

Because He will.

And just like that first Easter morning, what you expect to be another ordinary, heavy day might just be the place where hope rises again.
