diy easy outdoor furniture makeover

A while back, I purchased this gorgeous 4pc. roped furniture from a friend on Facebook. They had been painted black in the past, but needed a bit of a refresh. What does a girl do?? Heads to Walmart and grabs up some paint, of course!

Before I began painting my little heart out, I wiped down the furniture extremely well!

THIS is the exact paint I chose. I love that it is both fade and chip resistant! I simply painted it on the furniture using a regular paint brush. I could have used black spray paint, but I wanted to make sure it didn’t get on the beautiful wooden part of the furniture!

As you can see, it is ALREADY looking so much better! However, the dirty, dingy white cushions were just not my style… and I did not want to spend more on new cushions, when it is always fun to do a little diy’ing!

While browsing the lovely world wide web, I fell in LOVE with this fabric!!!

Let me introduce to you, “Neon Summer Floral” print from Spoonflower!

Doesn’t this floral print scream BROOKE?!I purchased 2 yards of petal signature cotton fabric for about $30. I am putting this under my covered patio, so I was not worried about it holding up through bad
weather.

Next, I traced and cut the fabric while measuring underneath each cushion, leaving a couple of inches on each side. I made sure the fabric covered the front of the cushion completely.

Much like wrapping a present, I folded up the edges and hot glued the fabric to the cushions.

This just proves you can do ANYTHING with a hot glue gun! This is honestly one of the easiest things EVER…If you can wrap a present, you can re-cover a cushion! I am NOT saying this is the best way. Stapling and true upholstery is better…but for a fun little diy that you can do on a place that won’t be used as much, this is something you can do!

The finished project! Isn’t she beautiful?! I followed the same process for the other 3 cushions!

How ADORABLE is this furniture refresh?? I absolutely could have cleaned up the white cushions, or purchased new, but I could not be more THRILLED with the outcome!!!

Be sure to PIN FOR LATER!!!

I really love that fabric!!!! I’m surprised you kept the furniture black, tho. Wouldn’t it look great as electric blue or another of the neon colors from the fabric??? ????

Fabric is adorable. Great job.. How did the hot glue hold with the weather? That would be my only concern as the temperature could either expand or contract the glue.
